1    Do training (how ever and where ever)

2    Undergo assessment

3    Apply for competency certificate from SAPS

4    Apply for renewal or new license

Renewal is a two decision process - You decide

Path A    -    Do renewal test only - One test for all your firearms - Only for existing licenses - No shooting required

Path B    -    Do RPL test - Shooting required - TWO written tests - Can be used for renewal or new applications

If you write a renewal this time, in five years you must go shoot. If you shoot now, in five years you must write the renewal test.

Download the firearm tests, Print them and complete them on your own time. Please print portrait in landscape on A4 paper. (Double sided is acceptable)
